अलीगढ़। कैरियर अडवांसमेंट सैल के तत्वाधान में मंगलायतन विश्वविद्यालय में भारतीय सेना में अधिकारी बनने के अवसर विषय पर व्याख्यान हुआ। जिन युवाओं और युवतियों में देश सेवा का जज्बा है तथा जो एक ऐसा कैरियर चुनने के लिए उत्साहित हैं जहां प्रतिदिन नई-नई साहसिक कार्यों की चुनौतियों के साथ मनोरंजन, स्वास्थ्य एवं खुशहाल जीवन शैली और कैरियर प्रोन्नति के भरपूर अवसर हो, ऐसे युवाओं के लिए रक्षा सेनाओं में अधिकारी बनकर देश सेवा के अनेक अवसर हैं। ज्ञात हो कि रक्षा सेवाओं में अब महिलाओं के लिए भी सेना की अनेक शाखाओं में अवसर उपलब्ध हैं और वो भी पुरुष अधिकारियों के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर सैनिक अधिकारी की प्रबल भूमिका निभा रही हैं। भारतीय सेनाओं ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र में अपनी मजबूत भूमिका और देश की सुरक्षा में विभिन्न अभियानों में पराक्रम का परिचर देते हुए अपना विशेष स्थान बनाया है। जिसके दृष्टिगत रक्षा सेवाओं में कैरियर सबसे प्रतिष्ठित और सम्मानीय माना जाता है। यह बातें मंगलायतन विश्वविद्यालय में ग्रुप रजिस्ट्रार ब्रिगेडियर समरवीर सिंह ने अपने व्याख्यान में कहीं।
मंगलायतन विश्वविद्यालय में अध्यनरत विद्यार्थियों को रक्षा सेनाओं और अर्धसैनिक बलो में कैरियर के अवसरों से अवगत कराने के लिए एक व्याख्यान श्रंखला के क्रम में प्रथम व्याख्यान के दौरान थल सेना में उपलब्ध अवसरों पर विस्तृत चर्चा की गई। अवगत हो कि शार्ट सर्विस एवं परमानेंट कमीशन दोनों के तहत युवा युवतियों को बतौर अधिकारी अनेक अवसर हैं। विद्यार्थी इन अवसरों का भरपूर फायदा उठाए। विषय को रोचक बनाने के लिए सेना से जुडे कई वीडीओ और व्यक्तिगत अनुभव के वृतांत भी बिग्रेडियर समरवीर सिंह ने विद्यार्थियों से साझा किए। सेना में अपनी सेवाएं दे चुके ग्रुप रजिस्ट्रार ने छात्र-छात्राओं को सेना में अधिकारियों के पद व वेतन के संबंध में विस्तार से जानकारी दी। चयनित उम्मीदवार की प्रारंभिक नियुक्ति लैफ्टिनेंट रेंक पर होगी। अनुभव व योग्यता के आधार पर पदोन्नति लेकर कैप्टन, मेजर से लेकर सबसे शीर्ष पद जनरल तक भी पहुंच सकते हैं। छात्र-छात्राओं के प्रश्नोत्तर और सही जबाब देने वाले विद्यार्थियों को पुरस्कृत कर कार्यक्रम को और भी रोचक बना दिया गया।
उन्होंने कहा कि सेना में अधिकारी चयन के लिए स्नातक डिग्री के साथ यूपीएससी परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करनी होती है। तत्पश्चात साक्षात्कार (एसएसबी) और स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण के बाद मेरिट के आधार पर चयन होता है। शार्ट सर्विस कमीशन के तहत स्नातक स्नातकोत्तर या इंजीनियरिंग स्नातकों को यूपीएससी और बिना यूपीएससी के सीधे साक्षात्कार देकर अधिकारी चयनित होने के अवसर भी हैं। इस अवसर पर प्रो. उल्लास गुरुदास, प्रो. राजीव शर्मा, डा. सिद्धार्थ जैन, लव मित्तल, तरूण शर्मा,मयंक जैन आदि थे।
