अलीगढ़। मंगलायतन विश्वविद्यालय की चारों राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (एनएसएस) इकाईयों के स्वयं सेवकों द्वारा आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव के अंतर्गत निकटवर्ती गांव में जाकर वृक्षारोपण अभियान चलाया गया। स्वयं सेवकों ने कार्यक्रम अधिकारी लव मित्तल, दीप शिखा सक्सैना, सोनी सिंह, पूनम रानी के निर्देशन में विभिन्न स्थानों पर फल दार वृक्षों का रोपण किया। ग्रामीणों ने वृक्षों की देखभाल करने का आश्वासन दिया। फल दार वृक्षों में मुख्यरुप से अमरूद, आम, बेल व जामुन के पौधे लगाए गए। कार्यक्रम समन्वयक प्रो. सिद्धार्थ जैन ने ग्रामीणों से अनुरोध किया कि वृक्षों से हमें शुद्ध हवा व भविष्य में हमारी पीडियों को मीठे फल मिलेंगे। प्रदूषण के वर्तमान वातावरण में वृक्ष ही आशा की किरण हैं। वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम में स्वयं सेवकों के साथ गांव वासियों ने भी बढ़चढ़ कर सहभागिता की। कुलपति प्रो. केवीएसएम कृष्णा ने वृक्षारोपण पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि भविष्य में ऐसे आयोजनों पर बल दिया जाए। कुलसचिव बिग्रेडियर समरवीर सिंह एवं परीक्षा नियंत्रक प्रो. दिनेश शर्मा ने छात्रों की इस पहल पर शुभकामनाएं दी। उन्होंने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा हर घर तिरंगा कार्यक्रम के तहत एक हजार राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का स्वयं सेवकों द्वारा आगामी सप्ताह में निकटवर्ती गांव में वितरण किया जाएगा। स्वयं सेवकों में रवि, दुष्यंत, दानिश, नवनीत, हेमंत, अंजली, विभु, नंदनी आदि ने हिस्सा लिया।
