Mangalayatan University Organized a Seminar on “How to Become an Officer in the Indian Army”

Mangalayatan University, Aligarh organized a seminar on “how to become an officer in the Indian Army,” under the auspices of the Career Advancement Cell. Addressing the event, Brigadier Samar veer Singh, Group Registrar at Mangalayatan University said, “Indian Army is the best place for youths who are passionate about serving their country and are excited to work in a position that offers a variety entertainment, a healthy and happy lifestyle, career advancement, and the challenges of new adventures every day. By joining the defense forces, you will get various opportunities to serve your country. It is to be noted that opportunities are now available for women in defense services in many branches of the army and they are also playing the dominant role of military officers’ officers alongside male officers.” He said, “Indian forces have made a special place for their strong role in the United Nations and the security of the country, giving the attendant of valor in various missions. Because of this, the career in Defense Services is considered to be the most prestigious and honorable.”

A detailed discussion of the prospects available in the Army was held during the first lecture in a series of talks to make students studying at Mangalyaan University aware of career opportunities in defense forces and paramilitary forces. Since there are numerous opportunities for young girls to serve as officers, both on a temporary and permanent basis. Students should take advantage of these possibilities to the fullest extent possible. The Group Registrar, who had previously served in the army, provided the students with thorough information on the rank and pay of army officers. The selected candidate will be assigned to the rank of Lieutenant at first. One can progress from Captain to Major to General by taking promotions based on experience and qualifications. The event was made more entertaining by asking students questions and rewarding those who answered correctly.

Brigadier Samar veer Singh said that for the selection of officers in the army, one has to pass the UPSC exam with a bachelor’s degree. Thereafter, merit-based selection is made, followed by an interview (SSB) and a health test. Under the Short Service Commission (SSC), there are also opportunities for graduates, postgraduates or engineering graduates to be selected officers by giving direct interviews with UPSC and without UPSC. On this occasion Prof. Ullas Gurudas, Prof. Rajiv Sharma, Dr. Siddharth Jain, Luv Mittal, Tarun Sharma, Mayank Jain, were present at the event.
